A forerunner in secondary-school design, Shorewood High School is modeled on a university campus plan. Constructed between 1924 and 1938 by Milwaukee archi­tects Herbst and Kuenzli, the school includes separate buildings for administration, physical education, arts and science, industrial arts, and theater arts. The splendid auditorium also serves the Shorewood community.
