Fire chief 1928-48; pres, grade and high school boards 1930-43; village pres. 1935-51; 2 years each selective service board, county school committee. Elected to Assembly 1956; re-elected 1958, '60, '62. Chairman of Assembly Com. on Third Reading; vice-chm. Commerce and Manufactures Com., member Agriculture Com.
