World War II veteran; served in Army Corps of Engineers, European Theater of Operations, 1944-46. Member American Public Works Association, Elks; served as president of United Automobile Workers local 1957-60; president Marinette and Menominee Labor Council 1958-61. Member city civil defense committee; was alderman, president of city council 1958-61. Elected to Assembly in special election November 16, 1965; re-elected 1966.
