businessman, politician, Congressman, b. Sheboygan Falls. In 1880 he entered his father's tannery, and in 1888 became a partner in the business. A Democrat, he held local political offices in Sheboygan Falls, was his party's delegate to the national conventions of 1904 and 1908, and in 1900 was an unsuccessful candidate for Congress. In 1902 he was elected to Congress, was three times re-elected, and served from Mar., 1903, to Mar., 1911. He was not a candidate for re-election in 1910, and in 1911 returned to his leather business in Sheboygan Falls. Weisse was for a time president of the Sheboygan Press Publishing Co.
