Wright, Theodore Lyman 1858 - 1926

Early Career
He graduated from Beloit College in 1880 and Harvard University in 1884, and studied abroad at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, Greece in 1887. From 1888 until his death, Wright served as professor of Greek at Beloit College.
Accomplishments
Among the unique features of his long professorship were his translations and productions of a large number of Greek dramas, which were staged by his classes and presented on the Beloit campus. There they were enthusiastically received by both the city and the Beloit students. He translated several Greek works, and was the author of Beloit Pageant in 1916.
