Michael E. Stevens

Michael E. Stevens is Wisconsin State Historian Emeritus. He has published fifteen books and more than thirty articles on various historical subjects. His most recent book, The Making of Pioneer Wisconsin: Voices of Early Settlers, was published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press. A Milwaukee native now living in Fitchburg, Stevens earned his PhD in American history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His other Wisconsin Historical Society Press books include The Family Letters of Victor and Meta Berger, 1894-1929, Letters from the Front, Remembering the Holocaust, Voices from Vietnam, and Women Remember the War, 1941-1945.
