Create and Enjoy a 19th-Century Meal During the Wade House's Hearthside Dinner

Greenbush, Wis. – Create and enjoy your very own hearth-side meal at the Wade House’s Hearthside Dinner Series on Saturday, January 12, February 9, March 9 and April 13.

“The cold winter months are a perfect time to enjoy a home-cooked meal,” said Jim Willaert, curator at Wade House Historic Site.  “The Hearthside Dinners are a great way to get out of the house and experience what cooking was like in the 19th-century.”

Guests will prepare historic dishes on a wood-burning stove over an open-hearth fire, just as Mrs. Wade did over 150 years ago.  Once the cooking is done, guests will take their seats in the lovely Wade House dining room and discover just how delicious history can be.

Each dinner will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and advanced reservations are required. Tickets cost $55 per person.  To reserve a spot at the table or to answer any questions, please contact Mary Burkey at (920) 526-3271. Private Hearthside Dinners for groups of 10 to 20 may also be arranged.  Tickets also include access to the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum and a tour of the Wade House.
