Author Michael Stevens to Give a Talk at Wade House Historic Site on July 18

Greenbush, Wis. – Wade House Historic Site will welcome author, Michael Stevens on Thursday, July 18 from 7:00-8:00 pm to talk about his book, “The Making of Pioneer Wisconsin.”

“We are excited to have Michael join us as part of the Natives and Newcomers programming at Wade House,” said Jim Willaert, curator at Wade House Historic Site.

More than a half million people settled in Wisconsin from the mid-1830s through the 1850s, and many recorded their experiences as they traveled, established homes, and formed new communities. By weaving together excerpts from these fascinating letters, diaries, newspaper articles, and other documents, “The Making of Pioneer Wisconsin” provides a unique and intimate glimpse into the lives of the state’s early settlers.

Natives & Newcomers is a monthly program that introduces audiences to the Native American cultures and immigrant experiences of the peoples who made up early Sheboygan County. This program series is made possible by a grant from the Kohler Foundation, Inc.

The author will sign books after the presentation. The cost to attend this special event is $5.00 per person.
