Robinson Hill Historic District Listed in the State Register of Historic Places
Allouez, WI. - The Wisconsin Historical Society placed the Robinson Hill Historic District (Allouez, Brown County) on the State Register of Historic Places on August 14, 2020.
The Robinson Hill Residential Historic District is filled with charming homes reflecting numerous popular styles of the period including Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival, Bungalow, and Ranch styles, and built between 1910 and 1953. Primarily occupied by families, occupations of the neighborhood’s residents varied from business managers, and small business owners, to engineers, and medical professionals, but also included salesmen, clerks, and skilled laborers, all reflecting a diversity of professions. The neighborhood was a popular place to live, its proximity to the city of Green Bay was convenient for work, but provided attractive tree-lined streets and welcoming homes; amenities that continue to attract homeowners and families today. The pride in the neighborhood is evident in the care and upkeep of the homes and the community of families who live there.
The State Register is Wisconsin's official list of state properties determined to be significant to Wisconsin's heritage. The State Historic Preservation Office at the Wisconsin Historical Society administers both the State Register and National Register in Wisconsin.
