Eagle, WI. – Old World Wisconsin is gearing up for an always spooky, sometimes scary Halloween event for two weekends in October. Legends & Lore will take place on October 15-16 & 22-23, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This family-friendly experience brings supernatural tales passed down over generations to life against the backdrop of Old World’s historic Crossroad Village. Advanced tickets are required for all event-goers ages 5+ and can be purchased through the Wisconsin Historical Society’s online store.

“Legends & Lore is Halloween fun for all ages,” said Dan Freas, director of Old World Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Historical Society. “This event gives guests a chance to experience Old World after dark, complete with spooky stories performed by costumed performers throughout the grounds and a final tale told around a bonfire to close out festivities each night of the event.”

Guests are provided with a map upon entry to the site and can explore the Crossroads Village as darkness falls. Guided by the eerie glow of lantern light, guests are free to explore special attractions such as Mr. Smith’s Emporium of Oddities, the Hodag Hay Maze for Little Goblins, and performances of the Tale of the Nachtkrap at their own pace. After working up an appetite, event-goers can stop in at the Creamery on site for tasty treats and refreshments.

Legends & Lore will take place in rain or shine and tram service will not be available during the event. Tickets cost $19.99 for ages 13+ and $13.99 for children ages 5-12. Children under the age of 5 receive free entry and Society members receive a 10% discount on their ticket purchase. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for all event-goers and final entry is at 8:00 p.m. each night of the event. To purchase tickets, visit shop.wisconsinhistory.org/legends-lore.

This event is sponsored by WaterStone Bank and hosted in collaboration with Kettle Moraine School for Arts and Performance.
