Love Wisconsin and beer? This could be your dream job! | Wisconsin Historical Society

Eagle, WI. – The Wisconsin Historical Society, a state government agency that operates an outdoor history museum focused on Wisconsin’s early immigrants and agricultural roots, is seeking a beer and brewing enthusiast with an interest in public programming for a new position at its Old World Wisconsin history attraction in the southeast corner of the state.

The Brewing Experience Coordinator is a newly created role dedicated to spearheading interactive experiences related to Wisconsin’s brewing traditions, historic tavern culture, and the role of beer in the state’s history. The position will provide direct support for Old World Wisconsin’s new Brewing Experience, which will open to the public in the spring of 2022.

“We’re looking for a new team member who not only feels passionate about beer and brewing culture, but knows how to channel that passion into hands-on experiences that make a real impact on our guests,” said Dan Freas, director of Old World Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Historical Society. “The Brewing Experience Coordinator we’re looking for is someone who cares about preserving Wisconsin’s brewing traditions and is excited to share them with others through engaging storytelling.”

The Brewing Experience will position Old World Wisconsin as a one-of-a-kind destination where guests can be fully immersed in Midwestern brewing traditions and learn about history by engaging their senses. The Brewing Experience will feature a spacious new multi-purpose building where guests can watch live brewing demonstrations and participate in beer dinners and brewing workshops. It will also include a historic tavern restored to its 1930s appearance where guests can enjoy a beverage, and an outdoor biergarten where guests can get a taste of historically inspired beer and food from the adjacent cafe.

The new Brewing Experience Coordinator will play an instrumental role in Old World Wisconsin’s next chapter as the public launch of the new Brewing Experience approaches. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about the beer brewing process, but more importantly, should be able to design and implement a variety of programs while managing program partner relationships.
