Greenbush, WI. – Wade House, one of the Wisconsin Historical Society’s historic sites, is excited to announce registration is open for its Plank Road Adventure Summer Camp for children entering grades 3-8. From orienteering to candle dipping, woodstove cooking and more, campers will dive into learning the skills needed to start a new life in 19th century-Wisconsin. 

“This fun summer camp, presented as a week-long game, leads campers on an exciting historical journey,” said Abby Pfisterer, director of PK-12 education for the Wisconsin Historical Society. “Young campers will explore the entire Wade House site, while being asked to solve a daily challenge faced by those living and traveling on the plank road 150 years ago. The entire fun-filled week offers intriguing challenges, new discoveries and plenty of playtime.”

This NEW summer camp program runs June 19-23 and July 24-28, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Campers will have fun visiting the sawmill, blacksmith shop and carriage museum, and will enjoy the great outdoors through interactive nature hikes. All campers receive a complimentary T-shirt and families are invited to join their campers for a special end-of-camp celebration on Friday.
