Madison, WI. – The Wisconsin Historical Society is excited to announce two NEW day camps for kids this summer. With the Society’s new pop-up space in the US Bank Plaza on Capitol Square as home base, campers will enjoy a fun-filled week of exploration and adventure in the heart of Wisconsin’s capitol where history is around every corner.     

Both camp options run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Advanced registration is required for all campers and Wisconsin Historical Society members are eligible for a 10% discount.

 

Myths and Legends Summer Camp

WHEN: July 24-28, 2023

Cost: $220 per camper for five-day camp; must register at least three weeks in advance

Be a super sleuth this summer. Explore the legends and lore of Wisconsin on an interactive journey through Madison and the Wisconsin Historical Society collections! Campers, now historical investigators, will enjoy daily adventures uncovering clues that will lead them down paths of exploration and reveal stories hidden throughout their state.  Meet with Wisconsin Historical Society experts, dive into stories and games, and enjoy a fun-filled week of discovery.

 

Archeology Adventures Summer Camp

WHEN: August 7-11, 2023

Cost: $220 per camper for five-day camp; must register at least three weeks in advance

Did you hear about the 3,000-year-old canoe found in Madison’s Lake Mendota? Be a junior archeologist for one week and learn how such discoveries happen. With the help of Wisconsin Historical Society archeologists, campers will discover the tools of the trade and practice their skills throughout the week. Digging for relics, and even having the chance to see the oldest canoe ever found in the Great Lakes region, will highlight this week of exploration.
