Get outside and enjoy a patriotic celebration featuring historic games and live music

Eagle, WI – An old-fashioned Independence Day Weekend, filled with fun and games and a live brass band, will take place at Old World Wisconsin on July 1 and 2. Guests can participate in the popular pie-eating contest returning for the 2023 event, play games like historic base ball and hoop and stick, listen to a reading of the Declaration of Independence while enjoying a picnic on the shady Village Grove, and more.

“The Independence Day holiday is all about getting together with friends and family to recognize the founding of our country. We’re excited to have guests here to engage with history and celebrate the holiday with tasty food and lively music,” said Dan Freas, Old World Wisconsin director.

Independence Day Weekend is sponsored by the Old World Foundation and this special program is included in the cost of general admission. Tickets are $20 for adults and teens, $18 for senior citizens, $13 for children, and admission is free for children under 5. The site will have a grab-and-go picnic lunch available for purchase. Old World Wisconsin will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 1-2, 2023.
