‘Myths and Legends’ and ‘Archeology Adventures’ offer hands-on fun in a dynamic environment

MADISON, Wis. – Registration is now open for two exciting and educational summer camp opportunities for children ages 6-10 in Madison. Hosted by the Wisconsin Historical Society in the new History Maker Space on Capitol Square, these day camps bring opportunities for young learners to practice news skills, play interactive games and enjoy planned outings around downtown Madison.

Myths and Legends Summer Camp

June 24-28 and July 22-26, 2024 | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Cost: $220 per camper

Kids will uncover the myths and mysteries of Wisconsin folklore as they spend five exciting days engaging in interactive lessons with trained facilitators. From learning about infamous cryptids and monsters that call the Badger State home—including the Hodag and the Tommyknocker—to gaining a better understanding of folklore and legends passed down over time, children become historical adventurers as they explore and travel through the landmarks of downtown Madison. Archeology Adventures Summer Camp

July 8-12 and Aug. 12-16, 2024 | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Cost: $220 per camper

With hidden histories, buried mysteries and secrets of the past held deep beneath the ground, kids will leave no stone unturned at this engaging day camp. During this five-day interactive classroom adventure, children will explore the state through archeological work to gain a better appreciation of historical inquiry and scientific investigation. Led by Wisconsin Historical Society facilitators and educators, kids will practice the skills of archaeologists and historians, play fun games and take field trips through downtown Madison.  For children ages 6-10.
