Senn, Nicholas, M.D. (1844-1908) (Historic Marker Re-erected 1997)

N. 3rd and W. Juneau sts. In a laboratory under the sidewalk of his office at this site, in the 1870s, Dr. Senn conducted far-reaching experiments which led to international renown as the "great master of abdominal surgery." He was one of Wisconsin's greatest surgeons, physicians, and medical pioneers, and the 49th president of the American Medical Association.
