The Kreiter Manufacturing Co. (or Kreiter Piano Co.) was started by German immigrant Conrad Kreiter in Milwaukee in 1880 or 1897 (available sources differ).  The piano manufacturing plant was moved to Marinette in 1911, where Conrad's son Waldemar (born 1891) was put in charge and one model of player piano named after him.  At one time the company produced 10,000 pianos a year, including grand pianos, uprights, and player pianos. The business offices remained in Milwaukee. The Marinette plant closed around 1930, though the company lingered on in Milwaukee through the 1930s.  Both the Kreiter Piano Co. and the Kreiter Manufacturing Co. were out of business by 1945.
