Atkinson, Percy C[Hristopherson] 1867 - 1941" | Wisconsin Historical Society
newspaperman, b. Ailsa Craig, Ontario, Canada. After learning the printer's trade in Canada, Atkinson worked for the Minneapolis Tribune. Shortly after his father's purchase of the Eau Claire Leader in 1885, he came to Eau Claire to help edit and publish the paper. In 1912 he was a prime force in the consolidation of the Leader and the Telegram printing facilities, serving as president of the resultant Eau Claire Press Company. He was editor of the Eau Claire Leader until his death. Eau Claire Leader, Dec. 21, 1941; J. G. Gregory, W. Central Wis. (4 vols., Indianapolis, 1933).
