Bird, Claire Brayton 1868 - 1954
lawyer, politician, judge, b. Jefferson. After receiving his degree at the Univ. of Wisconsin (LL.B., 1891), he moved to Wausau where he practiced law for many years. A conservative Republican, he was elected to the state senate in 1918 on the loyalty issue, and served until 1923. He was circuit judge of the 16th judicial circuit (1941-1942), and was president of the Wisconsin Bar Association (1913-1914). M. M. Quaife, Wis.
