activist, educator, writer; b. Cleveland, Ohio. Bravo attended Cornell University, Cambridge University, and McGill University. She moved to Milwaukee in 1981 where she co-founded the 9to5 Milwaukee chapter in 1982. She served as the national director until 2004. Bravo began teaching women studies at ther University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2004. She Bravo has written several books on issues concerning women and work, including Taking on the Big Boys; she is  co-author of the 9to5 Guide to Sexual Harassment. Bravo also serves as executive director of the Family Values at Work national consortium, a network of state organizations devtoted to work and family balance policies.
