Breese, Llywelyn 1833 - 1922 | Wisconsin Historical Society

politician, businessman, b. Abermynach, North Wales. He migrated to the U.S. with his parents, settling in Randolph (1846), and later in Portage. A Republican, he served for several years as treasurer of Columbia County, and was Wisconsin secretary of state (1870-1874). In Portage he engaged in the mercantile business, was a founder of the City Bank (1874) and its president until 1909. He was one of the founders of the Portage Hosiery Co.
