lawyer, Episcopal clergyman, missionary, b. Willet, N.Y. He moved to Vermont with his parents in 1848 and later attended Bakersfield Academy. He was admitted to the bar in 1855 and practiced law in Swanton, Vt. In 1858 he moved to Wisconsin and set up a law practice in North Pepin. He was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Church in 1862, and two years later was ordained a priest. He served in various rector-ships in Minnesota (1864-1875) and in 1875 returned to Wisconsin to become pastor at Lancaster. He was in charge of a circuit in the Beaver Dam area (1880-1891). In 1891 he was appointed missionary to the Oneida Indians at the old Oneida reservation in Outagamie County, and served as rector of the Hobart Church at Oneida until his death.
