newspaperman, columnist, b. Middletown, Ohio. He began his newspaper career as office boy for the La Crosse Tribune, and later served as editor of the La Crosse Tribune and Leader-Press (1919-1928). He was editor of the Two Rivers Reporter (1928-1937), and managing editor of the Wausau Record-Herald (1937-1950). His columns, "The Drifter" and "Foreign Affairs," were syndicated in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota newspapers.
