Cha-wa-non, Menominee leader, died ca. 1826
Son of the French trader Souligny; also called Cha-kau-cho-ka-ma and, by whites, The Old King; he received commendation and a medal from the British in 1778, and was the grandfather of Chief Oshkosh.
