Civil War: 41st Infantry
The 41st Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Milwaukee and mustered into service on June 8, 1864. The regiment moved to Memphis, Tennessee, June 15-19, 1864. It served on garrison duty, railroad guard, and picket duty at Memphis as well as participating in the repulse of a Confederate attack on Memphis. The regiment mustered out of service September 24, 1864. It lost 18 men during service, all from disease.
