Coon, Frederick William 1850 - 1919 | Wisconsin Historical Society
newspaperman, b. near Utica, Dane County. He attended Albion Academy (1863-1866) and graduated from the Univ. of Wisconsin (1873). In 1874 he moved to Oconomowoc where he founded the Oconomowoc Local, serving as editor and publisher until 1878. In 1882 he purchased the Edgerton Wisconsin Tobacco Reporter, a weekly paper devoted to the interests of the tobacco industry in Wisconsin, and served as editor and publisher of this paper until his death.
