Dicke, Peter Henry 1822 - 1911
(Note: birth date given in original as "Apr. 3[?], 1822.") Lutheran clergyman, b. Westphalia, Germany. He migrated to the U.S. in 1851, was ordained in the Lutheran ministry (1853), and moved to Wisconsin in 1857. He settled first in Dodge County, but in 1863 moved to Belle Plaine, Shawano County. Here he made his greatest contribution as a Lutheran missionary, making extensive journeys to find and organize scattered Lutherans. During his 34 years as a pioneer missionary, he organized 24 congregations. After 1874 he lived in Washington County. O. F. Hattstaedt, Hist. of S. Wis. Dist. of Evangelical Lutheran Synod . . .
