Earling, Albert John 1848 - 1925 | Wisconsin Historical Society

railway executive, b. Richfield. In 1866 he began his career with the Milwaukee and St. Paul R.R. Co. as a telegrapher. He rose successively through various positions with this line, and was president of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul R.R. Co. (1899-1917), and chairman of the board (1917-1919). He was the moving spirit in the extension of the Milwaukee Road from the Missouri River to the Pacific Coast. A. W. Derleth, Milwaukee Road (New York, 1948); J. G.
