businessman, b. Sugar Creek, Walworth County. He moved to La Crosse in 1852. During the Civil War he served briefly with the 40th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry (1864). Returning to La Crosse, he conducted a dry-goods business (1867-1873), and from 1879 to 1887 was a partner in the lumber firm of Edwards and Osborne. In 1882 he helped organize the La Crosse Street R.R. Co., and was its president (1882-1912). He was also instrumental in organizing the La Crosse Knitting Works (1886), and for many years was president of the Osborne-MacMillan Elevator Co.
