Evans, Evan Alfred 1876 - 1948 | Wisconsin Historical Society

lawyer, judge, b. Spring Green. He graduated from the Univ. of Wisconsin (LL.B., 1899), and practiced law in Baraboo (1900-1916). In 1916 he was appointed judge of the 7th judicial circuit of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and served in this capacity until his death. He was senior circuit judge after 1934, and was the author of numerous legal articles and opinions. He was a trustee of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation and president of the Wisconsin Alumni Association. Amer. Bar. Assoc. Jour., 33 (1947); R. G. Thwaites, ed., Univ. of Wis.
