Falge, Louis 1861 - 1918
physician, archeologist, author, b. Bohemia. He migrated to the U.S. and Wisconsin with his parents in 1869 and settled in Manitowoc. He graduated from the Univ. of Wisconsin (B.S., 1884) and Rush Medical College, Chicago (M.D., 1887). He practiced medicine in Cato and Reedsville until 1907, and in Manitowoc (1907-1918). Keenly interested in local history and archeology, he investigated and mapped Indian settlements in his home areas, and wrote monographs based on his research and explorations.
