Dictionary of Wisconsin History.

Appleton novelist, playwright, and short story writer who won the Pulitzer Prize for her novel, So Big. Other novels by her include Cimarron, Show Boat, and Giant, all of which were turned into successful stage musicals or films. Ferber also collaborated with George S. Kaufman on a number of plays and was a member of the Algonquin Round Table of writers in New York during the 1920s.
