Gilbert, Frank Lynch 1864 - 1930
lawyer, politician, b. Arena. He entered the Univ. of Wisconsin law school in 1896, passed his bar examinations in 1897, but continued at the university and graduated (LL.B.) in 1899. He practiced law in Madison for many years, and served five years as district attorney for Dane County. A Republican, he was elected state attorney general in 1906 and served two terms (1907-1911). After 1911 he returned to private practice in Madison, but also served as U.S. collector of internal revenue for the 2nd Wisconsin district, county judge of Dane County, and in 1927 was appointed to the reorganized state conservation commission.
