Glover, Arthur James 1873 - 1949 | Wisconsin Historical Society

professor, agricultural journalist, b. Zumbro Falls, Minn. He graduated from the Minnesota College of Agriculture at St. Paul (1893) and the Univ. of Minnesota (1899). He was inspector for the Minnesota dairy and food commission (1899-1901), and from 1901 to 1904 was assistant professor of dairy husbandry at the Illinois College of Agriculture, Urbana. In 1904 he moved to Ft. Atkinson to join the editorial staff of Hoard's Dairyman, and served as managing editor from 1918 to 1949. He was a member (1937-1943) and president (1939-1943) of the board of regents of the Univ. of Wisconsin. One of the leaders in modern dairying, Glover was president of the American Dairyman's Federation, secretary of the Wisconsin Dairyman's Association (1909-1915), and president of the Holstein-Friesian Association of America (1934-1937).
