industrialist, b. Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the Univ. of Michigan (B.S., 1861) and soon became associated with the lake-shipping and iron-manufacturing interests of Eber E. Ward of Detroit. In 1867 he moved to Milwaukee as secretary of the Milwaukee Iron Co., of which Ward was the president and largest stockholder. In the latter position Hagerman played a prominent role in the development of iron mines in the Menominee Range, and was also connected with numerous other Wisconsin and Milwaukee business establishments. In 1884 he moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., and shortly thereafter retired from active business affairs. He died in Milan, Italy. Wis. Mag. Hist., 7; [F. A.
