manufacturer, businessman, b. Crown Point, N.Y. He attended Hudson River Institute and Clavrick College, and moved to Wisconsin with his parents in 1874. In 1876 he settled in Appleton where in 1877 he became a partner in the woolen manufacturing firm of Hutchinson and Co. He became general manager of the firm when it was reorganized in 1882 as the Appleton Woolen Mills, and in 1910 became president, holding this office from 1910 to 1940.
