Haven, Spencer 1868 - 1938 | Wisconsin Historical Society

lawyer, politician, state attorney general, b. Floyd, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State College, Ames (1890), moved to Wisconsin, and taught school at Almond and Amherst. He graduated from the Univ. of Wisconsin (LL.B., 1895), was admitted to the bar, and set up a law practice at Hudson in 1896. A Republican, he was a member of the state central committee (1905-1906). In 1918 he was appointed state attorney general to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Walter C. Owen (q.v.) and held this position until 1919.
