physician, b. Town of Lisbon, Waukesha County. He graduated from Rush Medical College, Chicago (M.D., 1886) and conducted a general practice in Waukesha (1886-1892). In 1892 he began specializing in the treatment of diabetes, kidney ailments, and Bright's disease. He became nationally known as an authority on these diseases. In 1909 he founded a hospital specializing in the treatment of diabetics, and in 1912 established a spa at Waukesha which became nationally famous for the treatment of diabetes and kidney ailments. Hodgson retired from active practice in 1920 but continued to be active in Waukesha business, civic, and health enterprises until his death.
