educator, politician, b. Kingston, Green Lake County. He graduated from Valparaiso Univ., Ind. (B.A., 1892; M.A., 1920). He was county superintendent of schools for Green Lake County (1895-1903), and state inspector of public schools (1903-1916). From 1916 until his retirement in 1939 he was a member of the faculty of River Falls State Normal School. In 1919 he served with the Army Educational Corps in Europe.
