(Rep.), born in Richland County's Town of Richland, Aug. 3, 1903. Educated Richland County public schools; attended Richland County Normal School. After teaching for one year, he started farming for himself. 4-H Club leader. Member of the committee on rural community high schools. Town chairman 1939-51; served as chairman of Richland County Board and as school board director. Elected to Assembly 1950; now in 6th term. Chairman of Assembly Printing Committee, vice-chm. Transportation Com. Member Education Com. (chairman 1953), State Affairs Com. Served on Joint Finance Committee in 1957 and 1961.
