Lange, Louie Augustus 1854 - 1917 | Wisconsin Historical Society
newspaperman, politician, b. Chicago. He moved with his parents to Fond du Lac (1856), and in 1870 began working on the Fond du Lac Journal. From 1874 to 1876 he was city editor of the La Porte, Indiana, Chronicle, but returned to Fond du Lac in 1877 to become city editor of the Commonwealth. In 1883 he purchased an interest in the Fond du Lac Reporter, becoming sole owner in 1885, and merging the Reporter and the Journal in 1894 as the Daily Reporter and Fond du Lac Journal. In 1903 he organized the Reporter Printing Company and served as president until his death. A Democrat, he served in the Wisconsin assembly (1893-1900). Fond du Lac Reporter, Dec. 26, 1917; F. L.
