Town of Excelsior 1949-66; county board vice- chairman and various county committees 1951-66; served on local school board; secretary-treasurer soil and water district super-visors (formerly state president); area vice-president and director for 8 years on National Soil and Water Conservation Board. Elected to Assembly 1966 and 1968.
