Levalley, Christopher Warren 1833 - 1918 | Wisconsin Historical Society
inventor, manufacturer, b. Manchester, Conn. He served in the Union army during the Civil War. He was superintendent, then general manager, of the St. Paul (Minn.) Harvester Works before coming to Milwaukee in 1891. Levalley was granted 118 patents for agricultural implements, detachable types of chain belt, and other mechanical devices. The principal founder, in 1891, of the Chain Belt Company, Milwaukee, he was its president (1891-1916) and chairman of the board from 1916 until his death. F. L. Holmes, et al., eds., Wis.
