Ebenezer Brigham

Quarter-length oval portrait of Ebenezer Brigham, founder of the first major community in the Blue Mounds of Wisconsin, which included a mine, frontier inn, and mercantile establishment. He was born in Shrewsbury, Worcester County, Massachusetts on April 28, 1789. Brigham came to Illinois in May of 1818 and to Wisconsin in August of 1822. He settled at Blue Mounds in 1828. |
