This district includes 44 historic structures built between 1843 and 1930, including residences, public buildings and religious structures in Greek Revival, Italianate, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Neo-Classical Revival and other period revival styles and vernacular forms. The district is situated around the historic Library Park between 7th and 8th avenues, the site of the fine Neo-Classical Revival Gilbert M. Simmons Memorial Public Library, the Soldier's Memorial Monument, and the Lincoln Statue.
