Summary

This is one of the city's oldest commercial districts, located at the confluence of the Milwaukee and Menomonee rivers. These 28 buildings, constructed between 1855 and 1925 in Greek Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, and Romanesque Revival styles, are used for mixed business purposes. The district includes an exceptional number of Civil War era (c. 1858-1868) commercial buildings.
