Second Reduction Drive Gear

A large Drive Gear rests outside the factory after being removed from the furnace. This product was later purchased by Buffalo Forge Company of Buffalo, New York, and used by Sociedad Agricola Pucala Ltda, in South America of Lima, Peru. Original Falk caption reads, "Gear Casting being removed from Annealing furnace. 26-158 teeth, 1 DP, 24 inch face, 3 3/8 inch gap, 23 degree full depth tooth form, staggered herringbone teeth, 23 degree helix angle, 1.39 axial overlap, 92.750 inch center distance, 6.0769 to 1 ratio. The pinion and gear set is normally required to transmit a load of 650 HP from 36.69 to 5.99 rpm. The pitch line velocity is 249.7 feet per minute."
