The Plow (Plough) Inn

The Plow (Plough) Inn, 3402 Monroe St., surrounded by trees. The stone section on the right is the original farmhouse. The brick section on the left was added in 1858 by John Whare and his wife Isabella. He was a glass blower from England. They named the Plough Inn for the ploughs they sold from the side yard. There are a flight of steps up to the landing / porch and the front door. A small, shed-like structure is attached to the right side of the inn. Other buildings, perhaps houses, can be seen in the background.
