Head and shoulders studio portrait of Thore Knudson, a musician in Company E, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Berry, Wisconsin. On December 7, 1861, he enlisted in La Crosse, Wisconsin and was mustered into service at Madison, Wisconsin on December 20, 1861, at the age of 24. He mustered out with Company E on December 20, 1864, at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
