Two Leader Tree

A tall white pine standing along Lowe's Creek south of Eau Claire. The top of the main trunk has been broken off and a secondary leader has grown from a horizontal limb midway up the trunk on the left. In 1950 the trunk was nearly 14 feet in circumference. The tree is thought to have been a remnant of virgin pine forest.
